The “Supports for Learning” eCommunity in Ontario’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE/Brightspace) is a central professional learning hub provided by the Ministry of Education to support publicly funded K–12 educators across the province.

What It Offers

• Self-Guided Learning Modules: Asynchronous professional development modules focused on pedagogy, curriculum implementation, and effective learning strategies.

• On-Demand Webinar Recordings: Archive of past Ministry-sponsored webinars covering revised curriculum guidelines (such as History, Kindergarten, and Mathematics), special education, de-streaming, and assessment practices.

• Curriculum & Teaching Supports: Ready-to-use digital resources, virtual learning tools, and practical instructional strategies for classroom and online settings.

How to Access It

1. Log in to the VLE using the DSB1 Brightspace portal.

2. Locate the Widget: On your VLE homepage, look for the box labelled “My Courses In Other Orgs.”

3. Enter the eCommunity: Click on “Supports for Learning” inside that widget to open the space and explore all available modules and webinar recordings.
